Sobotaged
The book I read was
Sabotaged by Margaret Peterson Haddix. This book is about 3 kids who go
back to the lost colony of Roanoke to return a girl named Andrea. Andrea is
supposed to be the Virginia dare.
The other two grabbed them and so then they got sent back with them. So
now they are to fix time by making it so that Andrea could find he lost
grandfather. They are sent back with a device called an ecullator that they can
make themselves invisible with.
Then the people in the past whom got killed have disappeared. They are
now scared because they don’t know where there
at.
After that they go to the island and they start watching to tracer boys.
So then they start to flow the tracers around to see what they are doing. When
Jonah looks the ecullators is gone and he can not find it. Now they are trying
to figure out what happened to it. Then they figure out that Andrea dropped it
in time travel. It was all because Jonah kicks her when they were traveling in
time. So then in the end Jonah and Katherine are sucked back to the future. Then
Andrea found her tracer.
The genre of this book is young adult fiction. In this you can tell that
the book is young adult fiction because it will show stuff that only some young
adults will understand. Also it tells you inside the front cover that it is
young adult fiction. The fiction part is also very true. It is true because they
are sending people back to the 16th century.
I think that Jonah changed the most. He changed the most because in the
beginning he was very scared because they went back in time. Also In the first
half of the book he did not know how to use the ecullator. But in the middle of
the book he figured out to use it and work
it.
I think that I could not have done what Johan did in this story. In this
he took the risks of telling Andrea to leave his grandfather behind. Also he
went back in time and I would not do that. I think that this could affect the
reader by making it so they do not want to read the other book in the
series. Also it affects them by not
wanting to ever going back in time in the future. I think that it affected me
the most because at this point I did not want to finish reading the
book.
I think that the part were Johan and them followed the tracers was a good
idea. I think so because they found Andrea’s tracer. Also they should have not
have moved Andreas original tracer. Also they should not have went back in time
with Andrea. Than this way Andrea could have solved their own problems. I think
that they would have than never had to have gone back in time.
I would rate this book a 5. I rated it this way because it was a very,
very good book. It was good because it was good how it started on an island that
know body was there. Also I like how the book ended and started. Also it was
good when they were talking to John White. I think that takes a lot of guts to
do that.
